Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 655 )
Q5: What does a person say in the prostration for forgetfulness and the prostration for recitation?
A5: He says in the two prostrations for forgetfulness and the prostration for recitation what he says in the prostration of prayer, and among that is saying: (Subhana Rabbi al-A'la) [Glory be to my Lord, the Most High], repeating it three times or more, and it is obligatory to say it once. It is recommended that he say in them:
O Allah, to You I prostrate, in You I believe, and to You I submit. O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the small and the large, the first and the last, the open and the secret. Glory be to You, O Allah, our Lord, and with Your praise. O Allah, forgive me.اللهم لك سجدت وبك آمنت ولك أسلمت، اللهم اغفر لي ذنبي كله دقه وجله وأوله وآخره وعلانيته وسره، سبحانك اللهم ربنا وبحمدك اللهــم اغفر لي
It is also prescribed for him to say:
All Glorious, All Holy, Lord of the Angels and the Spirit.سبوح قدوس رب الملائكة والروح
Sahih Muslim 487a
And he also supplicates in them with whatever good supplications he wishes, just as he supplicates in the prostration of prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
