Zakah in the Wealth of Minors

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3830 )
Q2: Is zakah obligatory in the wealth of minors ? And if it is obligatory, is the zakah taken from it, and from the monthly rents that come to it, after deducting the expenses from them, and is the zakah on the net and remaining amount?
A2: Zakah is obligatory in the zakatable wealth of Muslim minors if a lunar year has passed over it. And if it becomes obligatory, it is paid out from the existing wealth over which the lunar year has passed, and its profits follow it in the obligation of zakah, not
requiring a new lunar year, even if it has independent obligations such as their maintenance for the year following the time when zakah becomes obligatory. As for necessary expenses, it is good to take them before the completion of the lunar year by spending them in their proper place, such as buying clothes and food, paying off debts, and the like. As for rents, there is no zakah in them until a lunar year passes over them, starting from the lease contract. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
