The Loss of a Deposit and the Depositor’s Forgiveness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6098 )
Q2: There is a woman who deposited money as a trust, and this money was squandered, with this woman’s knowledge, and she is forgiving in this matter. What is the ruling of the religion in this?

A2: The Shari'ah came with the command to preserve money and the prohibition of squandering and wasting. Allah the Exalted said:
and do not spend wastefully.وَلاَ تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا
[Al-Isra 17:26]
It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he prohibited the wasting of money. The one who was entrusted with money and was negligent in wasting and squandering it must pay its equivalent. However, if the owner of the right drops his right, there is no blame.
