Postponing the making up of fasts until another Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 13545 )
Q2: I have a wife, and in Ramadan of the year 1409 AH, she was afflicted with menstruation and broke her fast for 14 days. After that, she was able to fast for seven days, and she still has seven days remaining. She is now in her sixth month of pregnancy. I ask you to inform me whether the expiation for fasting suffices for that, or what should I do? May Allah reward you with good.
A2: It is obligatory for your wife to make up the remaining days she broke her fast in Ramadan due to menstruation. If she postpones making them up until another Ramadan without a valid religious excuse, it is obligatory for her, in addition to making up the fasts, to pay an expiation for each day she makes up. The expiation is feeding a poor person, for each day, the amount of half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of dates, wheat, or similar staple food of the country, given to the poor of the country, even if it is given to just one poor person. However, if the postponement is due to pregnancy or illness, there is
nothing required of her other than making up the fasts. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
