Q: Is it permissible in the Shari'ah to disburse zakah for the expenses of Islamic schools , the salaries of teachers, and meeting the needs for which these schools are established?
A: It is not permissible to disburse zakah for the expenses of Islamic schools unless it is paid to poor teachers, other employees, and students on account of their poverty. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
