A: Allah the Exalted has specified the recipients of zakah in eight categories, so it is not permissible to give it to anyone else. This includes the Qur'an memorization project, as it is not among the eight categories. Therefore, it is not permissible to give zakah to it. However, if some of the students or teachers are poor, they may be given from it because of their poverty, not because of their work. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
