Q3: Is it permissible to follow the deceased with the phrase La ilaha illa Allah until he is buried in his grave?
A3: The principle in acts of worship is to follow what has been prescribed; based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 1718a agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim and Muslim : Sahih Muslim 1718b And his (peace and blessings be upon him) Sunnah regarding the funeral prayer, accompanying the funeral, and burying the deceased is established and known to the Muslims, and following the funeral with the phrase La ilaha illa Allah was not part of it, and all good lies in following him (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him).
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.
من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو ردHe who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو ردAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
