Prayer on behalf of deceased parents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 7782 )
Q2: Is it permissible to dedicate the reward of prayer to one's parents by analogy to charity on their behalf?
A2: It is not permissible to pray on behalf of one's parents or anyone else, nor to dedicate the reward of prayer to them. What has been transmitted regarding charity on their behalf is restricted to the specific text, which is charity, because analogy is not permissible in such matters. There is no indication from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or from his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) that permits dedicating prayer to the deceased.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
