Charity on behalf of one's parents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 3320 )
Q1: What is the ruling in Islam regarding a person who gives food as charity and says: "This charity is for my father"? Or, for example, you say: "May Allah have mercy on your parents, help me with a certain matter"?
A1: Giving food as charity and the like of what benefits people is recommended, and it is among the deeds of righteousness. If you give it in charity for your parents, it is an act of excellence toward them, and its reward reaches them, as indicated by the scriptural evidence, and this is the position of the people of the Sunnah in this matter. Helping your Muslim brothers in good and fulfilling their permissible needs is among the matters to which the Lawgiver has encouraged and incited
people, and it is the right of the Muslim brother upon his Muslim brother. In this lies the strengthening of the bonds of Islamic brotherhood, and it leads to supplication for you and your parents. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
