Charity for the Parents
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 15918 )
Q 2: My parents have passed away. If I slaughter a sheep and give it as charity to
the poor, will that benefit my deceased father and mother?
A 2: If you give charity on behalf of your deceased parents, whether meat, food, or anything else, this is a prescribed matter, and it is hoped that its reward will reach them. This is based on the generality of the hadith of Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), in which he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Can one give charity on behalf of one's deceased mother?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded him to give charity on her behalf. It was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
