Ghusl is not obligatory after repentance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The first question of fatwa number ( 6149 )

Q1: Is ghusl obligatory after sincere repentance, and are there any supplications or narrations to be recited at that time?
A1:Praise be to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. After that:It is not obligatory to perform the full ritual bath after sincere repentance from sins; because the default ruling is that this is not prescribed, and we do not know of any evidence that contradicts this default ruling, except if the repentance is from disbelief, in which case it is prescribed for the one who has embraced Islam to perform the full ritual bath; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Qays ibn 'Asim to do so when he embraced Islam.Qays ibn 'Asimwhen he embraced Islam, and it was narrated by the ImamAhmadand Abu Dawudand al-Tirmidhiand al-Nasa'iand Ibn al-Sakan graded it as authentic.Ibn al-Sakan.And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
