A: The five prayers are at specific times prescribed by the Wise Lawgiver, and it is not permissible to delay them beyond those times. If delaying the prayer is for an excuse that does not cause the time in which it was made obligatory to be missed, then delaying is permissible. If it causes the time to be missed, it is forbidden. If continuing the study causes the prayer to be performed outside its time, it is not permissible for the student to do so, and it is obligatory for him to pray it in its time. The last time for Friday prayer is the last time for the midday prayer, so it is not permissible to delay it beyond that under any circumstances. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
