Q 1: Is it forbidden or permissible for a person to urinate while standing?
A 1: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family,
and his Companions... After that: It is not forbidden for a person to urinate while standing, but it is a recommended practice (sunnah) for him to urinate while sitting; due to the statement of A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her):Mishkat al-Masabih 365 It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi, and he said: This is the most authentic thing in this chapter. And because it is more concealing for him and more protective for him from being hit by any of the spray of his urine. And the dispensation (rukhsah) for urinating while standing was narrated from 'Umar and 'Ali and Ibn 'Umar and Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with them); as narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan an-Nasa'i 26Sahih (Darussalam) , and there is no contradiction between this and the hadith of A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her); due to the possibility that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did so because he was in a place where he could not sit, or he did it to make it clear to people that urinating while standing is not forbidden, and this does not contradict that the original practice is what A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) mentioned regarding his
(peace and blessings be upon him) urinating while sitting, and that it is a recommended practice (sunnah), not an obligation (wajib) whose violation is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

من حدثكم أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يبول قائمًا فلا تصدقوه، ما كان يبول إلا قاعدًاthe Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)came to some people's garbage dump and urinated while standing
أنه أتى سباطة قوم فبال قائمًا(peace and blessings be upon him) urinating while sitting, and that it is a recommended practice (sunnah), not an obligation (wajib) whose violation is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
