Fatwa number ( 3022 )
Q: We present to you that the organization has contracted to build a residential complex in Jubail, which includes the establishment of a sewage treatment station; such that the sewage water can be used for irrigation after it is purified and disinfected of microbes. Given the possibility that the residents' clothes may be affected by spray or droplets of this water during irrigation, we deemed it necessary to write to your eminence to inform us of the purity of that water or the possibility of praying in clothes affected by it. Please accept our greetings.
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. After that: If the impure water is a large amount, and the characteristics of impurity have disappeared from it in color, taste, and smell - it becomes pure; so it does not render impure any garment or
body or place that it touches. And if the characteristics of impurity have not disappeared from it, but some of them remain; then it renders impure any body, garment, or place that it touches. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
