Burying a live creature and the like
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5409 )
Q: I would like to ask you about crawling creatures, such as snakes, scorpions, and other crawling things. If Allah decrees that I encounter them and I kill them, should I bury them, or leave them exposed on the ground? Knowing that we have not left them and we still bury them, and we
do not know whether it is a mistake or correct. Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you with good and increase your reward and recompense.
A: The matter is broad in this regard; because there is no text in the Shari'ah indicating the prescription of burying them, nor a prohibition against it. The better course is to bury them so that no one is harmed by them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
