Calling people to pray over the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6516 )
Q2: Is it permissible in Islam for me to call upon the people of the town when someone dies
to pray over him, such as his relatives and his companions?

A2: It is permissible to call upon the deceased’s relatives, his companions, and his neighbors when he passes away so that they may pray over him, make supplication for him, follow his funeral procession, and assist in burying him; for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed his Companions of the death of al-Najashi (may Allah have mercy on him) so that they would pray over him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
