Is there a difference between a dead person and a deceased person?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. The difference between a dead person and a deceased person...?

The Shaykh : The correct view is that there is no difference between them. Some people have said that the dead person is the one who has actually died in reality, and the deceased person is the one who will die.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : I say that some people have stated this is the difference, and they cited as evidence His saying, the Exalted:
Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die. إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون
[Az-Zumar 39:30]
meaning you will die, and His saying, the Exalted:
And is one who was dead and We gave him life أو من كان ميتا فأحييناه
[Al-An'am 6:122]
, and this is the one who has actually died. It appears that the correct view is that there is no difference.
