Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 8972 )
Q1: What is the ruling for one who sleeps or forgets one of the five prayers, for example, he sleeps or forgets the Fajr prayer and does not remember it until he has prayed the 'Isha' prayer, so what does he do? Does he pray the Fajr prayer that he did not pray, on its own, or does he repeat all of what he prayed, so he prays Fajr
and Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha', even though he prayed Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha' all of them, except for Fajr? Please inform us, may Allah have mercy on you?

A1: He has to pray Fajr only, and he does not have to repeat the aforementioned prayers, because he prayed them while forgetting that he had the Fajr prayer upon him. Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
And it is authentic
He also reported among the material he knew to come from God’s messenger that he said, "At the beginning of every century God will send one who will renew its religion for this people.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن الله قال: قد فعلت
Mishkat al-Masabih 247
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
