Menstruation of the Pregnant Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa number (7278)
Q3: Does a pregnant woman menstruate or not? Because I have seen two narrations from the words of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): that a pregnant woman does not menstruate, and in another narration from Aisha as well, in her words: if a pregnant woman sees blood, let her leave off prayer. So does a pregnant woman menstruate or not, and which of the two statements is better?
A3: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And after: The jurists have differed regarding the pregnant woman: does she menstruate while pregnant or not? The correct of the two views is that she does not menstruate during her pregnancy. This is because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) made one of the types of the waiting period for the divorced woman to be three menstrual cycles, so that the purity of her womb from pregnancy is thereby established. If a pregnant woman menstruated, it would not be valid to make menstruation a waiting period to prove the purity of the womb. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
