Purchasing places of amusement and converting them into mosques
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The twelfth question of Fatwa No. ( 2922 )
Q12: Is it permissible to purchase liquor and dance halls and use them as mosques and places of worship?
A12: Yes, it is permissible to purchase them and make them into mosques; because in doing so, they are being used for what is better than what they were established for and used in. Impurity is not an inherent attribute of these places in themselves, but rather something that befell them due to
what they were established for. So, if they are used for good and established for that, their impurity departs and they become places of good. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
