The Intention and Its Evidence.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The third condition is that one must be intentional. What is the evidence for this condition?

The questioner :
Allah has forgiven my nation for mistakes and forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do.
Sunan Ibn Majah 2045Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The Shaykh : And from the Qur'an, the hadith is:
Allah has forgiven my nation for mistakes and forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do.
Sunan Ibn Majah 2045Sahih (Darussalam)
from the Qur'an.

The questioner :
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
.

The Shaykh : No, that is not what was meant.

The questioner :
but [only for] what your hearts intended
[Al-Ahzab 33:5]
.

The Shaykh :
And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred but [only for] what your hearts intended
[Al-Ahzab 33:5]
This is another piece of evidence.
Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;
[An-Nahl 16:106]
The mode of indication is that if the ruling of disbelief, which is the greatest of sins, is negated by coercion, then what is less than it is all the more so. And the hadith that our brother who answered first referred to.
