Q: What is the ruling on holding Qur'an recitation competitions for women in the presence of men?
A: It is not permissible for girls to recite the Quran in the presence of men; because of the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) feared for them in that, and the Shari'ah has come with blocking the means to harm that lead to the forbidden. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
