The Response to the Claim of the Atheists That Religions Have a Single Source and That They Accept Only What Reason Dictates

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Questions Eight and Nine from Fatwa No. ( 8897 ):
Q8, 9: The issues are raised by Muslims from many places for the awareness sessions, and they want a rational, sophistical answer that aligns with their minds, who do not believe in the Qur'an or the Sunnah, but rather rely on reason, meaning they are among those who only appreciate reason. Therefore, they want a convincing rational answer for them, and they are proceeding to promote the purpose of causing confusion and sowing doubt among the ignorant among Muslims. Some of them are good at being polite to Muslims, like the Chinese Malaysians, and some of them have power and politics like the Buddhists in Pattani. What is the answer to the following: 1 - That there is no difference in anything, since we worship and prostrate to the stones of statues in Malaysia , while you go with expensive expenses, selling them real estate and other valuables, going to Makkah . You bow and prostrate there and circumambulate the stones of the Ka'bah in the Sacred Mosque , and we have seen this through television during the Hajj seasons, and they said:
Everyone, in any case, is stones, regardless of our view of your beliefs, is this not the apparent reality? And the presenter or promoter of this is a Chinese Malaysian Magian...
2 - Just as religions are like many different rivers, the farthest of which from a single source in high lands, and all flow to one sea. They want to convey: That religions teach their adherents good morals and useful, purposeful deeds for the well-being of humanity and their success in this world and the hereafter... and finally, they gather them before Allah, that is their intended meaning: from the single source to the single sea. 3 - Meaning: So whoever holds to any of the religions is successful; because it is the truth of Allah and to Allah, whether by Islamic, Buddhist, or Christian religion. This is for confusion or to sow doubt in the ranks of Muslims, especially in their sons. We ask for quick notification of the arrival of the monitor at your place. We are waiting hour by hour. We thank you for that in advance. This, and knowing that this is the saying or philosophy of the Thai Buddhist monks. Thai political men planted these ideas in the ranks of the Muslim sons who study in their government schools, and most of them believe in them, for the purpose of a policy of joining Islam to their Buddhism and Malayness in their Siameseness... and so on... and they do so. And they say
the Shi'ite sect in their interpretation of the saying of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He:
And establish prayer for My remembrance
: So whoever mentions Allah in his heart has no prayer with its known forms. And it is known that its adherents performed the inner prayer, which is: that they close their eyes for a moment, through which they see the process of their prayer in their minds... and they said: And with this, the prayer has been established. They said: The inner prayer is stronger and more lasting than the outward deeds, meaning: with its known forms, citing His saying:
Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting
[An-Nahl 16:96]
, meaning: What you have is the process of the outward prayer with the limbs, and it is gone immediately after the act, and what is with Allah is lasting, meaning: it is the heart with which you used to pray, which remains in you, its voice and image come to you constantly. You perform the prayers once daily, as for the first of the day, which is in the morning, and as for the last of it, which is in the time of Maghrib.
And the best: that you do all of it in their times, wherever and whenever you are, and even in the bathrooms and while eating and giving to women. This is what I was informed of the content of the speech of the Shaykh who attended the awareness session. May Allah guide everyone to what He loves and is pleased with.

A8, 9: The difference between us and what you mentioned about the atheists is great, for Muslims worship Allah alone as came in His great Book, the Qur'an
And His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whom Allah sent to the jinn and mankind, the Arabsand the non-Arabs, and to men and women. He made him the Seal of the Prophets (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him), and He made it obligatory upon the two groups to follow him and hold fast to what he brought (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the atheists, they follow their desires and their intellects, and intellects and desires do not save their owners from the punishment of Allah, nor do they guide them to the deeds and words that please Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And Allah the Exalted said:
And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah?
[Al-Qasas 28:50]
. And as for their claim that all religions come from a single source, that is false. Rather, Islam, with which Allah sent the messengers, is the religion of truth, and its source is Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), who created the two groups for His sake and sent down the books, the greatest of which is the Noble Qur'an, and He sent the messengers, sealing them with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the other religions, their source is the opinions and intellects of people, which are not protected from error, and nothing from them is valid or considered except what agrees with the Shari'ah brought by the messengers (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon them). And after the sending of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), nothing is accepted from the opinions and intellects of people, nor from the previous books before the Qur'an, except what agrees with his Shari'ah (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah the Exalted said:
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sinsقُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ
[Ali 'Imran 3:31]
, and He the Exalted said:
And this [Qur'an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed, so follow it and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.
[Al-An'am 6:155]

And He said, Glorified and Exalted is He, regarding His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.
[An-Nisa 4:65]
, and He said:
but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses - (157) Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
[Al-A'raf 7:156-157]
, then He said, Glorified is He:
Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
[Al-A'raf 7:158]
. And the verses in this meaning are many. And in the two Sahihs, it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.
Sahih al-Bukhari 335
. And in [Sahih Muslim], it is narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he
said:
By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, he who amongst the community of Jews or Christians hears about me, but does not affirm his belief in that with which I have been sent and dies in this state (of disbelief), he shall be but one of the denizens of Hell-Fire.
Sahih Muslim 153
. And the hadiths in this meaning are many. So it is obligatory to advise these atheists and call them to the truth and remind them of the consequence of their disbelief, and that their destination is the Fire if they do not believe in Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and follow what he brought. And for you is the great reward from Allah and the good outcome. As for the claim of those you mentioned that they do not accept except what reason dictates, it should be made clear to them in their language that they understand: that reason is not protected from error, and that the minds of people are different; therefore, the pure Shari'ah of Allah came with not relying on them, but rather relying on what the Book of Allah indicates; because it is the truth after which there is no truth, and because there is no one more truthful than Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and because He is more knowledgeable about the conditions of His servants, then what is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); because he does not speak from desire, it is only a revelation revealed, and because the Book of Allah, falsehood does not come to it from before it or from behind it; and because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is protected from error in everything he conveys from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He; therefore, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commanded in His great Book to return to His judgment in case of disagreement, and to His Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as He said, Glorified is He:
And in anything over which you disagree - its ruling is [to be referred] to Allah.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:10]
, and He said
Mighty and Majestic:
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
, and He did not command, Glorified is He, nor His Messenger to return to the minds and make them the judge, and that is only because of their inability to solve problems and their disagreement. And we ask Allah to guide everyone to what He is pleased with, and to help everyone to understand His religion and be steadfast upon it and leave what contradicts it, for He is Generous and Bountiful. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
