Making up what was left behind during apostasy

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q3: It is said that verbal apostasy occurs by uttering the words of apostasy, such as insulting the religion. It is also said that if one commits apostasy through such insult or the like, then what he performed before that, such as prayer, fasting, and zakah, etc., or a vow he made upon himself, becomes invalid. Is it obligatory to make up what was missed or invalidated by this cause, or not? If it is obligatory, must the fasting be made up on consecutive days, or not?
Volume 3: The types of apostasy have already been explained. It is not a condition for that that the apostate say, "I have apostatized from my religion," but if he says that, his statement is considered one of the types of apostasy. It is not obligatory for the apostate, when he returns to Islam, to make up what he left off during his apostasy, such as prayer, fasting, and zakah, and so on. And the good deeds he performed in his Islam before the apostasy are not invalidated by the apostasy if he returns to Islam; because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, conditioned that upon his death in a state of disbelief, as He, Mighty and Majestic, said:
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelieversإِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ
[Al-Baqarah 2:161]
the verse, and He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafterوَمَنْ يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُولَئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:217]
the verse. As for his vow during his Islam, it remains valid if it was
The vow is an act of obedience, so he must fulfill it after returning to Islam. Likewise, any right owed to Allah or to His servants that is upon him before he apostatizes remains valid. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
