The third question of Fatwa No. ( 6541 ):
Q3: Is image-making of living beings major shirk, minor shirk, or a sin?
A3: It is not major shirk, but it is among the major sins; because of the severe warning and the cursing of image-makers mentioned in the texts regarding it. Nevertheless, it is a means to major shirk. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
