Keeping pictures, even if they are not hung on walls or elsewhere

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 4679 ):
Q4: Is it permissible to keep pictures of children, and the pictures are photographed
half the body and some show the full body, kept only in an album and not intended to be hung on the walls of the house? Please inform us of this.

A4: It is not permissible to keep pictures, even if they are not hung on walls or elsewhere, except in a driver's license, passport, currency, or similar items necessitated by need; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):
Spare no portrait unwiped outلا تدع صورة إلاَّ طمستها
Riyad as-Salihin 1687
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
