The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : A hair dye with multiple colors, excluding black, has become widespread in the markets. But when applied to white hair, the hair turns black. Is it permissible to use it, given that its color is not black before it is applied to the hair? And is it from the Sunnah to change gray hair with katam or henna?

The Shaykh : As long as this dye turns white hair black when applied, it is forbidden, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded changing gray hair but prohibited black. He said:
Keep away from black. جنبوه السواد
. And a severe warning was reported regarding a group who dye with black. So a person should fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Even if his hair is white and he is energetic and strong, he is young. And even if his hair is black and he is weak and emaciated, he is an old man with gray hair. So the best is to change gray hair with henna and katam. That is, they are mixed together. Henna is yellow and katam is black with a slight bluish tint, so that a brown color emerges from them. That is: dark brown. This is the best. And if he dyes with henna only, there is nothing wrong with it. And if he dyes with katam only, that is not permissible, because it becomes black. Yes.
Is this the last question? I will give a question to a woman. Fear Allah and be just.
