Is it permissible for a man to dye his hair any color other than black?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This is a female listener, Umm Muhammad, from Cairo, asking: Is it permissible for a man to dye his hair any color other than black? I hope for your guidance on this?

The Shaykh : It appears that it is not permissible for a man to dye his hair black to remove the whiteness that has appeared due to gray hair or for any other reason, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Change this gray hair and keep it away from black. غيّروا هذا الشيب وجنّبوه السواد
And it appears that if he turns white for a reason other than gray hair, meaning due to one of the causes, then it is not permissible for him to dye it black. As for dyeing gray hair black, the hadith is clear in the obligation to avoid it, so it is forbidden.
As for a man dyeing his hair a color other than black, this is only for adornment, and it is not befitting for a man to dye his head for adornment, because he is not a woman who is to be adorned and decorated. So I think he should not dye his head hair a color other than black, and it is not permissible to dye it black if it is to change the gray hair. Yes.
