Nullifying the Two Testimonies

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 10684 ):
Q: What is the dividing line between disbelief and Islam, and does one who pronounces the two testimonies and then commits acts that contradict them count among the Muslims despite his prayer and life?
A: The boundary between disbelief and Islam is the utterance of the two testimonies, accompanied by truthfulness and sincerity, and acting in accordance with them. Whoever possesses these qualities is a Muslim believer. As for the hypocrite who is not truthful and not sincere, he is not a believer. Likewise, whoever utters the two testimonies but commits what contradicts them, such as shirk, like one who calls for aid from the dead in times of hardship or ease, or one who prefers the judgment of man-made laws over the judgment by what Allah the Exalted has revealed, or one who mocks the Qur'an or what is established of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), is a disbeliever, even if he utters the two testimonies, prays, and fasts.
And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
