The third question of fatwa number ( 6592 ):


Q3: Some people say words that may lead to disbelief or open sinfulness, and they say: “I am only joking.” Is his joking with them valid in removing the blame, or not?
A3: It is strictly forbidden to joke with what contains disbelief or open sinfulness. Allah the Exalted said:
(65) And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" (66) Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِاللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (65) لاَ تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ
[At-Tawbah 9:65-66]
. This verse. It is obligatory to repent from that act and seek forgiveness, so that Allah may accept the repentance of the one who did it. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
