Q1: Is it permissible to use a chain to protect oneself and for marketing, and to offer it to a girl for marriage?
A1: First: It is not permissible to use it as an amulet to protect oneself, or to promote goods and the quality of merchandise in the markets. Second: It is permissible to offer a gold chain, for example, to a woman one is courting as a preliminary step toward marriage with her, provided it is not out of the belief that it brings benefit or wards off harm. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
