Ruqyah and taking a fee for it

Fatwa No. ( 2734 ):
Q: I engage in preaching and guidance in Tabuk , and I lead the Jumu'ah and congregational prayers in one of the mosques. I established a library containing a quantity of valuable books from the books of the Sunnah, and I teach in the same mosque hadith, fiqh, tawhid, and tafsir. I treat patients with the legitimate ruqyah established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadiths, such as his ruqyah for his family and companions, and the ruqyah of Jibril (peace be upon him) for him. I do not go beyond the hadiths. You know that ruqyah is established in the books of the Sunnah, and most of what I use for ruqyah is what is reported in the books of the Shaykh al-Islam, such as: [Iyadh al-Dalalah fi 'Umm al-Risalah] and other known books of his, and the books of Ibn al-Qayyim , including: [Zad al-Ma'ad]. It is not hidden from you that I take a fee for this, citing what is reported in the two Sahihs from the hadith of
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri indicating the permissibility of ruqyah and taking a fee for it, and the hadith is known to Your Eminence. What compels me to take a fee is the desire to be independent of what is in people's hands, and since I am blind and have family circumstances, and I have not been fortunate enough to find a job, and knowing that this is permissible and lawful. Some ignorant people objected to me without evidence. Therefore, I ask Allah, then Your Eminence, to issue a fatwa from Your Eminence to clarify what should be clarified so that I may be on clear guidance and to convince those who object out of ignorance. And if you see that I am on falsehood in this work, I ask for a fatwa that will convince me, and I do not oppose your opinion.
A: If the reality from you is as you mentioned, that you treat patients with legitimate ruqyah, and that you have not performed ruqyah on anyone except with what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and that you strive to return in that to what the scholar Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in his known books, and what the scholar Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote in [Zad al-Ma'ad] and similar books of the people of the Sunnah and the community , then your work is permissible, and your effort is appreciated and rewarded, if Allah wills. There is no harm in your taking a fee for it; due to the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) which you referred to in your question... And we ask Allah to reward you for what you mentioned you did of preaching to people, guiding them, teaching them, and praying with them in the mosque, and for establishing a library containing valuable books authored by the people of the Sunnah
and the community , and to reward you for your brothers with the best reward. We hope that Allah will increase you in success toward good and doing what is right, and that He will make you independent of what is in people's hands from His bounty. Indeed, He is the Near, the One who answers supplication. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
