Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: Is it permissible for a Muslim to supplicate with the names of Allah the Exalted for the healing of diseases?
A2: It is permissible; due to the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by themوَلِلَّهِ الأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
, and because this is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) for some people by saying:
Remove the hardship and suffering. Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healingأذهب البأس، رب الناس، اشف أنت الشافي، لا شفاء إلاَّ شفاؤك
Musnad Ahmad 565Sahih because of corroborating evidence; this is a Da'if (weak)
. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
