What is vowed to other than Allah from permissible foods or a permissible animal that has not been slaughtered

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 4299 ):
Q2: A vow made to other than Allah is invalid and does not take effect. If a person vows sheep to the Shaykh Muhyi al-Din or 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani , for example, to spend their meat on the poor and for the reward to reach the spirit of the Shaykh, and from that the vow-maker receives blessing from the Shaykh in their belief, does such a vow take effect? If it does not take effect, is it permissible to eat the meat of these vowed sheep? And does this vowed item fall under the general meaning of the verse of Allah the Exalted:
and that which has been dedicated to other than Allahوَمَا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
; because the vowed animal is a pure animal? And is it forbidden because of an invalid vow?

A2 : First: Vowing to Allah and slaughtering for Allah are acts of worship, and it is not permissible to direct any of them to other than Him, Glorified and Exalted is He. Whoever vows to other than Allah or slaughters for other than Allah has associated others with Allah in His worship. The sin of that is great, and it becomes more severe if the vow-maker or the one who slaughters believes that the deceased benefits or harms; because that is shirk (associating partners with Allah) in lordship in addition to shirk in worship. Second: A vow made to other than Allah does not take effect; rather, it is invalid. What is vowed to other than Allah from permissible foods or a permissible animal that has not been slaughtered belongs to its owner. If he slaughters it for other than Allah, it becomes carrion, and it is forbidden for him and for others to eat it. It falls under the general meaning of the aforementioned verse. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
