The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7114 ):
The questioner 3: The hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) include the hadith of the Dajjal, and whatis the meaning of the Dajjal? Is he present now or not? Where is his homeland? And what is the meaning of: his private part, about which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us?Is his private part real or figurative? Reveal to us the truth of what you know of the knowledge, may Allah make the Garden of Firdaus your abode?
A3: The Dajjal: The term is derived from "dajala," meaning to lie and be foolish; because he claims lordship, and this is one of the greatest lies. He is currently present. As for his "euphemism" (private part), it is literal; because the default in speech is the literal meaning. The emergence of the Messiah, the Dajjal, is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in authentic, mass-transmitted hadiths. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
