The Shaykh : The point is that this Dajjal appears with these supernatural anomalies to test, through him, whomever Allah (Mighty and Majestic) wills of His servants. Among these is a believing man who goes out and encounters a guard from the Dajjal's guards. They seize him and bring him to the Dajjal, who asks him: "Do you believe in me—meaning that I am the Lord?" He says: "No, you are a creation of Allah." The Dajjal orders him to be cut in half, then says to his followers: "Shall I restore him to how he was?" They say: "You are greater than that." He restores him to life as he was, then repeats the previous test, asking after he has seen this: "Do you believe?" He says: "I have only increased in faith that you are the greater Dajjal about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us." The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says in this hadith that he is unable to unleash him upon him a second time, in order to reveal his inability in his claim of lordship. This is among the characteristics of the Dajjal related to his supernatural anomalies.
But among his physical characteristics that are shameful and defective, and which do not befit the Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He), is that he is one-eyed. The narrations differ in specifying whether it is the right or the left eye, but they all agree that he is one-eyed. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Companions while describing this Dajjal to them:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2245Sahih (Darussalam), and he further alerts the believer that this Dajjal cannot possibly be the Lord. He (peace be upon him) said: . How can your Lord be this when you see him, and none of you will see his Lord until he dies, and then you see him as one-eyed? This is a defect and an imperfection, and Allah (Mighty and Majestic) possesses all attributes of perfection.
But among his physical characteristics that are shameful and defective, and which do not befit the Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He), is that he is one-eyed. The narrations differ in specifying whether it is the right or the left eye, but they all agree that he is one-eyed. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Companions while describing this Dajjal to them:
He is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not blind in one eye
إنه أعور ، وإن ربَّكم ليس بأعورAnd none of you will see his Lord until he dies.
وإن أحدكم لن يرى ربَّه حتى يموت
