Expending on one's family on the day of 'Ashura

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 10803 ):
Q2: On the tenth day of Muharram, some people provide abundant food for their families and the preachers explain its religious and worldly virtues. What
is the ruling? Likewise, some people say, based on experience, that there is a blessing in wealth?

A2: It is prescribed to fast on the tenth day of the month of Muharram along with the ninth or the eleventh. If the preacher or teacher encourages people to do so and explains its virtue, that is good. However, providing abundant food for one's family on that day with the intention that it is prescribed to give it preference is a religious innovation (bid'ah). The hadiths reported regarding the virtue of expending on one's family on that day are not authentic. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
