Going to fortune-tellers and soothsayers to ask them questions and hanging amulets

Fatwa number ( 7997 ):
Q: It was Allah’s will (Mighty and Majestic) that I write this letter to you, in which I seek some guidance and clarification regarding an illness called epilepsy that my mother has suffered from. Initially, she was afflicted with madness, so we brought her an imam of a mosque, and he was able to expel what was inside her. She continued to suffer from the same condition for a week, and every time we brought her the imam, she was healed by the permission of Allah. However, when he left, she returned to her previous state. She was healed after that and remained well for a period of time, but it was not long before a jinn—specifically a female jinn—possessed her. She suffered for approximately the same duration or longer. We brought the imam again, and he expelled it, and she returned to normal. Then we brought another one, and he expelled it. She remained in this state, and whenever something of this kind afflicted her, we brought someone to expel it. I would like to point out that in the second-to-last instance, my mother, while suffering from madness, asked me to bring the imam who had first expelled it from her. I brought him, and he expelled it from her. At that point, he indicated to me that the jinn had told him that that room was full of jinn—meaning the jinn—so we moved her to another room. But unfortunately, she remained in the same state. At that time, she asked me to take her to one of the shrines, and I complied with her request, but she found no cure there. We then took her to a practitioner of this trade, who gave her some amulets and medicines. As for the amulets, he instructed her to hang some and wash her body with others after placing them in water. As for the medicines, he asked her to eat them. I would like to point out to
your presence that the house (room) still contains jinn. Now I want from you: 1 - To know if my action was correct or contrary to the Shari'ah. 2 - To guide me to what is in my benefit.

A: First: It is forbidden to go to fortune-tellers and soothsayers to ask them questions; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيء لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلة
Sahih Muslim 2230
It was narrated by the Imam Muslim in his Sahih, and because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever hangs an amulet, Allah will not complete [his good], and whoever hangs a charm, Allah will not grant him [protection]من تعلق تميمة فلا أتم الله عليه، ومن تعلق ودعة فلا ودع الله له
, and in another narration:
Whoever hangs up an amulet has committed shirk.من تعلق تميمة فقد أشرك
. Second: The correct view is that it is not permissible to hang amulets. Third: Going to shrines seeking the blessing of their inhabitants is forbidden, and believing that their inhabitants possess the power to bring benefit, ward off harm, or cure a sick or mad person, or the like, is major shirk. We advise you to treat your mother with lawful ruqyah and permissible medicines. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
