The Reality of the Karamah of the Awliya

The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 9027 ):
Q4: Do the awliya (close friends of Allah) have karamah (a miracle granted to a righteous person), and do they have the ability to act in the realm of the unseen in the heavens and the earth, and do they intercede for the people of this world while they are in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection) or not?
A4: Karamah (a miracle granted to a righteous person): It is a matter that transcends the ordinary, which Allah the Exalted manifests through the hand of a living righteous servant of His; as an honor for him, He thereby removes a harm from him, or realizes a benefit for him, or establishes a right through it. The righteous servant does not have the power to bring about this matter when he wishes, just as the Prophet does not have the power to bring about a mu'jizah (a prophetic miracle) from himself; rather, all of that is with Allah alone. Allah the Exalted said:
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."
وَقَالُوا لَوْلا أُنْـزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا الآيَاتُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌby the permission of Allah the Exalted, and they do not have the power to intercede for anyone of the creation, whether living or dead, while they are in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection). Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely.
And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. And He is over all things competent.
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah
Say, "I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe."
