Causing Harm to Others and Inflicting Damage on Them

The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 7537 ):
Q4: If someone makes his enemy insane, and this insane person commits an act of evil, kills a soul, or does other harm, on whom do these sins fall? Is this person asked about it on the Day of Resurrection, or is it on the insane person, or on his enemy who made him insane, or on the one who cast a spell on him? On whom of these three do the sins fall? Knowing that the enemy of the insane person did not make him insane himself, but rather he hired a sorcerer to make him insane.
A4: It is forbidden to cause harm to others and inflict damage on them. Whoever causes this bears a share of the sin proportional to what he has acquired. It is also forbidden to go to a sorcerer to hire him to harm a person. The sorcerer’s action is considered disbelief (kufr); for Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:102] You must repent and seek forgiveness, and not go to the sorcerer again, and avoid harming people. Both of them, the sorcerer and the one who hired him, are sinful with a great sin. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah.
