Q: Two disbelievers wish to enter Islam and have asked him to take them to the mosque to perform the Friday prayer and to give them Qur'ans translated into English. He told them: You will be sent to the hospital for purification, and you will pronounce the two testimonies in the presence of the ruler. They prepared themselves for this, and one of them mentioned that he has been circumcised and is seeking guidance on what he must follow?
A: The method of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in calling the disbelievers to Islam is to command them to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they respond to that, he calls them to the rest of the laws of Islam. Among what has been reported in this regard is what al-Bukhari and Muslim (may Allah have mercy on them both) narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):Mishkat al-Masabih 1772, and in another narration: Sahih al-Bukhari 7372, and in yet another narration: Sunan Abi Dawud 1584Sahih (Al-Albani). And what al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) when he gave him the banner on the day of Khaybar: Sahih Muslim 2406, and in another narration: Sunan an-Nasa'i 2435Sahih (Darussalam). And Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i narrated from Qays ibn 'Asim what indicates the prescription of the full ritual bath for one who intends to enter Islam. Such a person should perform the full ritual bath, then immediately testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Afterwards, he should be taken to the mosque after his ritual purification, the legal purity, and then he should be informed to appear before the Shari'ah court to officially establish his Islam. Ibn 'Abbas reported God's messenger as saying when he sent Mu'adh to the Yemen, “You will come to folk who are people of a book, so invite them to testify that there is no god but God
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعث معاذًا إلى اليمن فقال له: إنك تأتي قومًا من أهل الكتاب فليكن أول ما تدعوهم إليه شهادة أن لا إله إلاَّ اللهbe the Tauhid of Allah
إلى أن يوحدوا اللهSo call them to bear witness that there is no diety but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in this respect, tell them that Allah has prescribed five prayers on them every day and night. If they obey you in this regard tell them that Allah has prescribed sadaqah(zakat) on their property and returned it to their poor. If they obey you in this respect, do not take the best of their property. Beware of the curse of the oppressed, for there is no curtain between it and Allah.
فادعهم إلى أن يشهدوا أن لا إله إلاَّ الله وأني رسول الله، فإن هم أطاعوك لذلك فأعلمهم أن الله افترض عليهم خمس صلوات في كل يوم وليلة، فإن هم أطاعوك لذلك فأعلمهم أن الله افترض عليهم صدقة تؤخذ من أغنيائهم، وترد على فقرائهم، فإن هم أطاعوك لذلك فإياك وكرائم أموالهم واتق دعوة المظلوم فإنه ليس بينها وبين الله حجابAdvance cautiously until you reach their open places, thereafter invite them to Islam and inform them what is obligatory for them from the rights of Allah, for, by Allah, if Allah guides aright even one person through you that is better for you than to possess the most valuable of the camels.
انفذ على رسلك حتى تنزل بساحتهم ثم ادعهم إلى الإِسلام، وأخبرهم بما يجب عليهم من حق الله تعالى فيه، فوالله لأن يهدي الله بك رجلاً واحدًا خير لك من حمر النعمcall them to testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
فادعهم إلى أن يشهدوا أن لا إله إلاَّ الله وأن محمدًا رسول اللهThe call of one who wishes to enter Islam to circumcision is delayed for some time until Islam settles in his heart, that would be good.
