The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6898 ):
Q4: Is the method of dhikr currently practiced by the people of the Sufi orders valid or incorrect? And did it come in the Sunnah? If it did, what are the hadiths indicating that? Because it causes many problems among people?
A: The dhikr of the people of the Sufi orders, performed in congregation with a single voice, swaying, and staggering, is an innovated religious innovation. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 1718a Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and he (peace be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1718b Narrated by the Imam Muslim in his Sahih. It is sufficient for the Muslim to follow the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his words and actions. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
