Ruling on supplicating to Allah with "Ya Hu"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 3867 ):

Q4: Is it permissible to supplicate to Allah with "Ya Hu" meaning: Allah is the implied pronoun, estimated to be: He is Allah?
A4: The pronouns of the speaker, the addressee, and the third person are references to the speaker, the addressee, or the absent party in general, so they are not names for Allah in language or in the Shari'ah, because He has not named Himself with them. Therefore, supplicating to Him with them is naming, calling, and remembering Him by other than His names, which is not permissible. This is because it is a deviation in His names by naming Him with what He has not named Himself with, and calling and supplicating to Him with what He has not legislated. The Exalted has forbidden that and said:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
