The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : A man arrived in the Kingdom for the first time to perform Hajj. Is it permissible for him to perform Hajj alone (ifrad) even though he has not previously performed 'Umrah? This is because he is traveling with a group performing ifrad?

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with him performing Hajj alone (ifrad). However, 'Umrah remains obligatory upon him. And his statement that he is traveling with a group performing ifrad does not prevent him from performing tamattu'. He should descend with the group, and they should all perform tawaf and sa'y together while they remain in their state of ihram, and he should shorten his hair and exit the state of ihram. It is better for him to exit the state of ihram so that he can serve his brothers without fatigue and without exhaustion. And if it is the eighth day of Dhul-Hijjah, he should enter the state of ihram for Hajj and go out with his brothers and stand with them at 'Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina, and they will descend to Makkah. He will be distinguished from them by one thing, which is sa'y. They have no sa'y upon them because they performed sa'y upon their arrival. And he has sa'y upon him because he performed sa'y upon his arrival for 'Umrah, so it is obligatory for him to perform sa'y for Hajj along with tawaf. Yes.
