A person who entered the state of ihram for Hajj alone: is it permissible for him to go to Madinah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I came with a group for Hajj and I entered the state of ihram for Hajj alone, but my group wants to travel to Madinah. Is it permissible for me to go to Madinah and return to Makkah to perform 'Umrah a few days later?

Answer: If a person performs Hajj with a group and they have entered the state of ihram for Hajj alone, and then he travels with them for the visit, the prescribed course for him is to make his state of ihram one of 'Umrah. He should perform the circumambulation of the Ka'bah for it, walk between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and shorten his hair, then exit the state of ihram. Then he should enter the state of ihram for Hajj on the eighth day, thereby becoming one who performs tamattu' (combining 'Umrah and Hajj with a break between them). He owes the sacrificial animal for tamattu', as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded his Companions in the Farewell Pilgrimage who did not have a sacrificial animal with him to do so.
