Remaining with a wife who does not pray

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I have a wife who does not perform the prayer or fasting, nor the religious or marital obligations. However, I have taught her everything, but she does not commit to performing the prayers; in fact, she leaves them off many times. She mocks me when I teach her or order her to pray. What is the ruling on continuing with her, given the difficulty of marrying another virtuous girl due to the high dowries that have become a major obstacle?

Answer: It is not permissible to continue with a woman of this description, who mocks the prayer and laughs at the one who orders her to pray, and who leaves off the prayer. This woman is a disbeliever. It is not permissible to remain with her;because of His saying, the Exalted:
And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving womenوَلَا تُمْسِكُوا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ
[Al-Mumtahanah: 10] ,and His saying, the Exalted:
And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you.
[Al-Baqarah: 221] , and this woman is a disbeliever as long as she does not pray, and mocks the prayer and the command to pray. Therefore, it is not permissible for you to remain with her.
As for your statement about the difficulty of marriage, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) makes good easy. And whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah will replace it with something better.

The result: It is not permissible to continue with her in this state, as long as she has not repented to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and preserved the prayer. This woman is not permissible to be a wife for a Muslim, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to keep her.
