Is it permissible for me to perform the 'aqiqah sacrifice for myself? And what is said during the slaughter of the 'aqiqah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I want to ask you a question.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : Regarding the 'aqiqah, is it permissible for me to perform an 'aqiqah for myself, and what exactly is said during the slaughter of the sacrificial animal?

The Shaykh : Yes. As for performing the 'aqiqah for yourself and slaughtering it, you have a precedent in the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), for he performed the 'aqiqah after the prophethood and the message were revealed to him. Therefore, we, praise be to Allah, have been performing the 'aqiqah for ourselves for more than thirty years, and we encourage our Salafi brothers to follow the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace be upon him) by slaughtering for themselves. As for what is said, our Lord has spared us; indeed, deeds are by intentions. So you say: "In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest," and that is sufficient, with the intention in your heart, in your mind. Perhaps you know that verbalizing the intention has no basis in the Sunnah, as many people do when they stand for prayer and say: "I intend to pray for Allah the Exalted," and so on, in that well-known phrase. I say, perhaps you know that this is among the innovations. Likewise, the one who says: "I intend Hajj and 'Umrah," this has no basis in the Sunnah. What has a basis in the Sunnah is to say: "Labbaik Allahumma 'umrah, Labbaik Allahumma 'umrah, and Hajj," and so on. As for saying "I intend Hajj and 'Umrah," this has no basis in the Sunnah. Expressing the intention with words is among the innovations that have spread and become widespread. So, you have received the answer, if Allah wills.

The questioner : Regarding the 'Id sacrifice,
O Allah, this is from me اللهمَّ هذا عنِّي
.

The Shaykh : For myself, yes.

The questioner :
and from my family and from my Ummah وعن آل بيتي وعن أمَّتي
.

The Shaykh : This is like
Labbaik Allahumma bi Hajj wa 'Umrah لبيك اللهم بحجٍّ وعمرة
, where one stops.

The questioner : Regarding the 'aqiqah, nothing has been reported.

The Shaykh : No, nothing has been reported.

The questioner : He asked, and we told him to confirm with the Shaykh.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : And beware of that.

The Shaykh : Is there anything else? Are you not clear?

The questioner : No, I am not clear, but we do not mean to exceed the time.

The Shaykh : No problem... still.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : When you hear the adhan, the time ends.

The questioner : May Allah will good.

The Shaykh : Yes, because I have an appointment; I had an appointment before you came.

The questioner : Before.

The Shaykh : Yes, and I have an appointment after 'Isha'.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
