What is the ruling on dedicating the reward of reciting the Qur'an to the deceased?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Specifically regarding the recitation of the Qur'an.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : There is a question.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : Reciting the Qur'an or the reward of the Qur'an is dedicated to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or to the deceased. This is my question.

The Shaykh : ... Reciting the Qur'an or in something that is added to the recitation.

The questioner : The second question is that one recites the Qur'an ... and dedicates the reward of that to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Is this established?

The Shaykh : The answer: Adhere to the established matter. "Follow and do not innovate, for you have been sufficiently provided. Adhere to the established matter." The answer, as Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said, is that it was not the custom of the Salaf ... to recite the Qur'an and give it to the Muslim dead. This was not their custom, nor did they recite the Qur'an over the graves, neither in the time of the Messenger (peace be upon him) nor in the time of the mujtahid imams. Rather, there is in the Sunnah what indicates the non-prescription of reciting the Qur'an over the grave. We have an authentic hadith indicating the non-prescription.
The student: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Regarding the non-prescription of reciting the Qur'an in a gathering at the grave, which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Recite Surat al-Baqarah in your homes, and do not make them graves. اقرأوا في بيوتكم سورة البقرة ، ولا تتَّخذوها قبورًا
, this is on the scale of:
Offer Salat in your homes and do not turn them into graves. صلوا في بيوتكم ولا تتخذوها قبورًا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 451Sahih (Darussalam)
, so Imam al-Bukhari and others used this hadith
Offer Salat in your homes and do not turn them into graves. صلوا في بيوتكم ولا تتخذوها قبورًا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 451Sahih (Darussalam)
as evidence that prayer is not prescribed at the graveyards, because he says:
Offer Salat in your homes and do not turn them into graves. صلوا في بيوتكم ولا تتخذوها قبورًا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 451Sahih (Darussalam)
.
