Things that invalidate fasting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What are the things that invalidate fasting in general?

Answer: The things that invalidate fasting include: eating and drinking intentionally, sexual intercourse, ejaculation, and also introducing anything into the body cavity that reaches the stomach, such as a drop in the eye, ear, or nose. If one uses a liquid drop in the nose, ear, or eye, and it reaches the throat, this breaks the fast, because he intentionally introduced a liquid into his body cavity. Similarly, taking nutritional injections: if a fasting person takes nutritional injections, he breaks his fast with them, because the injections take the place of food, so he breaks his fast with them. Also, among the things that break the fast is the exit of a large amount of blood through cupping or bloodletting.

According to the correct view, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The one who performs cupping and the one who is cupped break their fastأفطر الحاجم والمحجوم
.
Similarly, menstruation and post-natal bleeding; this is what breaks the fast for the menstruating woman and the woman with post-natal bleeding, and fasting is forbidden for them during menstruation and post-natal bleeding. Also, vomiting: if a person intentionally induces vomiting until he vomits, this also breaks the fast. However, if he vomits without intention, such that the vomiting overcomes him, he does not break his fast with it. Likewise, if he eats or drinks while forgetting, he does not break his fast with it.

Question: Does blood coming out of a person against his will, as a result of an accident or a cut, invalidate his fast or not?

Answer: It does not invalidate his fast. If blood comes out of him without his choice, for example, if he is wounded and blood comes out of him, or if he has a nosebleed, he does not break his fast with it because he did not do it intentionally. Even if it is a large amount, he does not break his fast with it. The one who breaks his fast is the one who performs cupping or bloodletting, because he intentionally caused the blood to come out, so he breaks his fast with it, due to the hadith regarding the one who performs cupping and the one who receives it.

Question: Is this intentionality applied by analogy to donating blood during the day in Ramadan?

Answer: Yes, if he donates a large amount of blood, he breaks his fast with it, because it is like cupping.
