A Clarification of the Hadith: (Whoever wishes to be granted a longer lifespan and an increase in his provision, let him maintain the ties of kinship), even though the lifespan and provision are pre-written in the Preserved Tablet

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I remind you of a hadith that has passed before us on some occasions, namely his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever wishes to be granted a longer lifespan and an increase in his provision, let him maintain the ties of kinship مَن أحبَّ أن يُنسأَ له في أجله ، ويُوسَّعَ له في - رزقه ؛ فليَصِلْ رَحِمَه
. This hadith is explicit that maintaining the ties of kinship is one of the causes of happiness. What is this happiness? The Messenger explained it in this hadith:
Whoever wishes to be granted a longer lifespan من أحب أن ينسأ له في أجله
Sahih Ibn Hibban 6:132
meaning that his lifespan is extended,
and an increase in his provision, let him maintain the ties of kinship ويُوسَّعَ له في رزقه ؛ فليَصِلْ رَحِمَه
Sahih Ibn Hibban 6:132
; therefore, maintaining the ties of kinship is a legislated cause for lengthening life and increasing provision. We know that life does not delay or advance, correct, life does not advance or delay, just as provision does not, regarding what is recorded with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in the Preserved Tablet. However, this record in the Preserved Tablet has its causes. So, from whom Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows that he will maintain the ties of kinship, He writes for him an expanded provision and a long life. And from whom He knows that he will not maintain the ties of kinship, He does not write for him that specific happiness, namely expansion in provision and lengthening in life. Likewise, happiness and misery are only by their causes. Likewise, good character and bad character, each has its path. So, whoever walks on this path, his character is good, and whoever walks on that path, his character is bad. Therefore, there is no compulsion here.
